PRIMARY SCHOOL
From Prep to Year 6 students follow a curriculum which reflects best teaching and learning practices to ensure that our students develop a love of learning. Literacy and Numeracy skills are a primary focus of the Prep to Year 6 program, with Science, Health, Technology and SOSE (Studies of Society and Environment) also strongly promoted.
Education at Leighland Christian School is a Christ-focused educational journey where we seek to value add to the lives of students, seeking to support their families as a whole.
A Christian worldview is developed throughout each of the subject areas, while Christian Living classes provide a dedicated time for students to reflect on God's glory and develop their spiritual, emotional and social skills.

Opportunities are available from Year 3 to Year 6 to learn a second language. Currently, AUSLAN is taught in Year 3, French in Year 4, and either Japanese or Indonesian in Year 5 and 6.
Design and Technologies
From Prep to Year 6, students are provided with programs and lessons introducing programming, robotics, system analysing and design projects.
Our Music Program
Leighland Christian School is well known in the region for its extensive Music program. All children are involved in vocal programs from Kindergarten through to Year 6, with instrumental programs available from Year 1 onwards. We recognise that students all have different ways of thinking and learning, and musical intelligence is recognised at our School as being important in a child's overall development. Involvement in Music programs is known to increase self-esteem, and enhance a child's understanding of the world around them and their place in it. The benefits can flow across many areas of their learning, in particular, Mathematics.
